DST Test / FDY Test — Privacy Policy
DST Teknoloji ("we", "us", "the company") develops and provides the DST Test and FDY Test mobile applications (the "App"). This privacy policy explains which data we process and for what purpose when you use the App, how we protect that data, and your rights. By using the App, you accept the practices described in this policy.
This policy covers both DST Test (Google Play package name: com.dstteknoloji.dsg_test_app) and FDY Test (Google Play package name: com.fdyotomotiv.fdy_test) — two brand editions of the same software whose data practices are identical. The App is a utility application for workshop/service use that operates automotive test equipment (a product family that begins with the DSG-7 transmission test rig) over Bluetooth (BLE).
1. Data we collect and its purpose
We process only the data necessary for the service to function:
- Email address — Creating a user account and signing in
- Name and (optional) phone — Account profile and header details of PDF test reports
- Test data (measurements, results) — Storing your test history and creating a cloud backup
- Test device serial number — Associating test records with the relevant device
This data is private to your own account; each user can access only their own data.
2. Bluetooth and location
The App uses your device's Bluetooth (BLE) feature to connect to the test device in the workshop.
- Bluetooth scanning is performed solely to find and connect to the test device.
- It does not collect, store or derive location data. Although Android's Bluetooth scan permission is technically tied to the location permission, our scan is performed with the neverForLocation flag.
3. App permissions
- Bluetooth scan / connect — Finding the test device and connecting to it for commands/telemetry
- Location (Android 11 and earlier only) — On these versions the operating system ties BLE scanning to the location permission; no location data is used
- Internet — Account sign-in and cloud sync of test reports
- Keep screen on (wake lock) — So the connection/reading is not interrupted during long tests
4. Data storage and security
Data is transmitted over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), stored on our own servers, and access to your account is protected by authentication.
5. Data sharing
We do not share or sell your personal data to third parties. A legal obligation (a court order) is the only exception.
6. Data retention and deletion
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and data; to do so, write to info@dst-teknoloji.com.
7. Children's privacy
The App is a utility application; it is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from users under the age of 13.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time; updates take effect the moment they are published on this page.
